W:M:C 2017 – Concert at the gym in Wacken

In the second part of the Wacken Music Camp week, the rehearsals became more intense and the bands worked very hard on their lyrics. Nevertheless the fun did not come short. The few sunny moments were used, for example, for a wild waterbomb attack. During the rally, everyone was unimpressed by the wet-cold weather and thanks to their general knowledge in the field of music and in team assignments, they won various prizes – such as a 25 € voucher for the Wacken Open Air Store. In the evening at the camp fire, the past day was rounded off with some music and barbecued crispbread. The camp was woken up the next morning by the trumpet music of Torben Kruse – one of the band managers.

The final concert of the third Wacken Music Camp drew many interested guests and proud parents to the gym of the elementary school in Wacken on Saturday the 19th of August 2017.

From gloomy death metal sounds to violin, cello and flute. The variety was written up at the Wacken Music Camp on Saturday, which lasted almost two hours. The prelude was made by a camp anthem composed of two participants, which was presented by all participants. Afterwards all bands had the chance to present their own song, which they wrote during the camp, for the first time to an audience. It turned out that “Metal is not equal to Metal”. Even whole fairy tales were implemented musically. The eight-man group DARK SIDE OF PARADISE told the story of Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf in her song.

“The concert was a complete success,” enthuses Enno Heymann, who is the head of the project. “The viewers were able to feel clearly how all the participants approached the event with fun, have learned more and more over time, and finally came out of their way. No trace of stage fright or touch. “
